Pere et fils obviously getting along better than most husbands and wives at the bridge table and here illustrating the basics of the game through illustrative, diagrammed hands--130 in toto--(all the way from championship play on down). This then is for the average player, who no longer counts his points with his lips but needs exemplification of openings, responses, the general conventions (Gerber, Stayman, etc.--nothing fancy), and the play of the hand. The Jacobys cover the offensive aspects of the game, skimp on the defensive but then this is harder to teach in print. The name is an easy-to-establish entry.
