APPOINTMENT WITH DEATH

Pleasant to read, but once again Pamela Frankau doesn't quite come off. She writes well, with perception and subtlety and distinction; there is always an idea back of her story; but somehow she misses fire. This book is part politics, part idealism, part mystery. There are some likeable and intelligent young people, and good dialog.
