WHERE'S THE BABY?

And when the dress Ma was making is ""shorter than planned, 'He can use scissors,' said Grandma. 'Isn't that grand!'"" Hutchins, long a pro at visual humor (Rosie's Walk; The Wind Blew--Greenaway Medal), depicts doting Grandma, rueful and long-suffering Mother, and big sister Hazel--whose face combines the joy of discovery with unholy glee at her small sibling's mischief--to hilarious effect.
