CLARENCE, THE TV DOG

There is some happy humor here as Pat Logan, who lives in Connecticut tells how Clarence came to live at her house and what happened after the small dog's portentous arrival. For Clarence came as a belated birthday present from an uncle, on the same day Pat's younger brother, Brian, had ordered a TV set for a free trial period. However, it is Clarence who stays and the TV set that goes, even though Clarence's strong personality keeps the Logans on the go at a TV show pace. Her friendliness attracts a variety of other animals, there in an unsuccessful hunting trip with Uncle Jeffrey, local fame as a watch dog, and so on, until Clarence tops it all off with a batch of puppies! Patricia Lauber is familiar to readers as editor of Scholdstic Magazine.
