Woody Hartford, of Black Tiger and Mexican Road Race is married now to Mary Jane. She doesn't want him in any more road races. Several of the laps around this latest novel we've been over before. Now that Woody is a partner in the Black Tiger agency he wants the car sales to zoom. But respecting Mary Jane's objections, in entering the Black Tiger model in its first Eastern race at Sebring, Florida, Woody is only one of the pit crew. Participation in the Sebring contest brings him a chance at the toughest course of all, Le Mans, where Woody races to what he thinks is defeat but turns out to be success. Black Tiger fans may complain they've been over this ground before.
