by Patrick Quentin ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 29, 1960
Dependable, dull Andrew Jordan, married to the glamorous Maureen, torments himself with ""she loves me, she loves me not"" while she's alive and after her murder is still the victim of his doubts and her deceptions. But the devastation left at her death extends to all the members of his family and while there can no longer be any question of her innocence, there is his- to be established before the police. Mr. Quentin toys with and teases his reader in much the same way- and it's disconcertingly deft.
