by Paul Showers ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 15, 1967
With the addition of Showers to Kettlekamp (Song, Speech and Ventriloquism, 135, J-47) the subject of speech is covered from a baby's gurgles to a soprano's scales. The efforts of little brother and sister to speak provide entree for an explanation of the part played by lungs, larynx, mouth, nose, lips, tongue and teeth in making noise and forming specific sounds. Simple experiments are suggested and application to speech problems is obvious. Two sensible injunctions: don't make fun of funny pronunciation, don't talk baby talk to babies.
