HOW TO SPEAK AND WRITE WITH HUMOR

For the after dinner speaker, the club member, for all those who not only enjoy being funny but are obliged to be, a definition and examination of how to increase one's humor potency. Written by a former member of the Dale Carnegie staff, this book attempts to analyze the nature of humor and show the various devices by which one can abstract a joke from an old story or a situation. The general calibre of the jokes here are somewhat mediocre, but Percy Whiting's style is lucid and his suggestions do serve a practical advantage to those who would apply their own personal mark to the many specific approaches suggested by this text.
