A story of marriage to a football here who never quite grows up, in an idea romance, lavishly , a fine girl of modest background, marries , whose football stardom, and fine physique have made him the darling of the public. Gayle, despite warnings of her closest friend, does not recognize his immaturity, his vanity, his petulance until some time after their marriage. The advent of a child leads to trouble -- finally when Bart starts sleeping around, Gayle breaks with him. To avoid the publicity of a New York divorce, Bart joins the air force, dies a hero due to a phoney buildup, and leaves Gayle to battle against the threat to her peace and freedom of the Bartlett name and money. Definitely plush -- but Paroy Marks has a wide audience.
