THE GHOULS

This is a ghoulash of short stories which were converted into films with brief annotations on the originals themselves or their metempsychosis to the smaller screen of the early days (pioneer George Melies' ""The Devil in a Convent"" -- 1896 -- leads off) and later to larger dimensional horrors such as Leroux's ""Phantom of the Opera"" the greatest of the silents, and ""The Fly."" There are of course classic contributors to the original medium -- Poe (twice represented), Stevenson, Bierce and Lovecraft, Gogol and Hawthorne. There's Maugham's ""The Magician"" which has inexplicably disappeared from the morgue; W. F. Harvey's ""The Beast With Five Fingers"" and Bradbury's more frightening ""Beast from 20,000 Fathoms,"" ""Dracula,"" of course and just about ""All That Money Can Buy"" -- Benet. There will be an all-age readership for this Creature Feature presentation. A photo per entry.
