The comedy team that gave slightly younger children the word on Where Did I Come From? (1973) offer here a modicum of information and some reassurances about the changes that come with puberty. They emphasize that breasts are nice in all shapes and sizes, that it's normal for boys' breasts to swell a bit at this time, that the important thing about a penis is not its size (or at least--a bit of harmless confusion here--just its size in erection, where they all tend to equalize), that masturbation (necessary because ""mating at too early an age is a mistake"") should make you feel good, not guilty. Other books--Pomeroy, Johnson, etc.--tell kids a lot more about what's happening to them; Mayle's breezy approach (""pimples often happen when you become a big oil producer,"" ""erections sometimes don't know when they're not wanted"") might work with those who feel more comfortable with TV and comics than with a lengthier, more sober explanation.
