Murder, Italian-style -- contracts and hits on New York's Lower East Side where the Manzano brothers, not a moving company, do a lot of trucking in anything from coke to television sets. Detective Inspector Frank Hovannes, with only his own conscience as his guide, proceeds from stakeout to shootout -- in which his partner is killed while Big Sallie Manzano is shot -- to further reprisals at the costs of lives -- including his own? Via the unremitting stutter of gunfire and four-letter words, this offers a big piece of the action that takes place on either side of the law when men take it into their own hands. And you could easily see its equivalent on one of those television sets.
