THE MAN WHO TRIED TO SAVE TIME

At first Krasilovsky's solitary hero seems happy enough in his tidy, unvarying routine, but when he decides to start saving time so that he can have a chance to be lazy, things go from silly to ridiculous. He eats his breakfast at dinnertime, dresses for work before he goes to bed, and tries to clean house and water the plants once and for all. Of course all this nonsense finally catches up with him, and after his boss points out the folly of his new habits, he realizes that ""he really liked his old way best."" The man's behavior demonstrates just the sort of absurd logic that children enjoy seeing through, and Sewall is one illustrator who can turn frame after frame of ordinary doings to sly advantage.
