This appeared in magazine form as The Merry Years of Christmas: A Christmas Poem, now it comes out as a book under Mince and , with enchanting pictures in two colors against color blocked paper- blue and reddish brown- by Harold Berson. The verses tell of the sources of Christmas traditions, - the Yule log, flaming pudding, Christmas carols; Santa Claus (variously Saint Nicholas and Papa Noel), miracle plays of the South west, the creche of Louisiana, and the frontier Christmases of the West. Charming, but perhaps the appeal depends on what appreciative adult shares it with listening children.
