TWO TO OUR SHOESTRING

The complete story of ""Wilderness Wife"" from her early conditioning for all things respectable and settled completely turned upside down when her restless-minded husband's ill health sent them to the North woods. Writing successes persuaded them to further footuran. Then motoring in the pre-highway era in Canada, the mountains and deserts of the United States during the 'flu epidemic, various living places, adventures afloat, their daughter growing up to the point of presenting new problems of living. Another version of life as a game, with money as a tool rather than an end, and adventure as an exercise for the mind. The ups and downs of the writing game, people, incidents and all that goes with it. Pleasant, and enough outside the highlights already elaborated in her preceding books to make it a well-rounded picture of a working cooperative marriage.
