THE FROZEN-FOODS COOKBOOK

The most newsworthy part of this book is what Poppy Cannon, internationally known authority, calls ""Shiobboleth Smashers"" in which, throughout the book, she comes to battle with accepted tenets. You can cook frozen meats and vegetables without defrosting; you can refreeze almost everything but seafood and fruit; you can keep frozen foods for years without deterioration; you can keep them in any good refrigerator lacking a frozen food section for three or four days, etc. The lists- in categories- of what is nationally available in frozen form is also useful. And the recipes will provide any adventurous housewife with a wide variety of uses from hors dourvres to esserts the result gourmet meals with an international flavor.
