by Rachel Field ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 1, 1990
Laroche, who also illustrated Field's General Store (1988), again fashions intricate three-dimensional scenes of cut paper to evoke a New England setting--and also, here, its extension in the reader's imagination. This simple poem (its theme is nicely declared in the title) doesn't really require this much explication, but it's fascinating to explore the artist's skillful use of his medium.
