A TIME WILL COME

Six women, all connected with a wealthy New York family, personify the women's rights problems of the 1900's. Three daughters-in-law, a maid, a sister, and the mistress of one of the sons, face various issues: divorce, property, possession of a child, justice, and or legalized position, finding their opponent old Roger Wright, tyrant and pursestring holder, head of the family. Susan B. Anthony enters their lives, spurs them on -- but in the end they take the way out that is offered, helping woman's cause not at all. All their problems are resolved with satisfaction for all, as three of them escape Wright's domination, and three achieve ends for which they are aiming. There's a sort of manufactured quality to the story, but the women contrast well, and the situations are handled with a sense of the period and theatrics. A good.
