PERCY

With funnier rather than frightening intent, Mr. Hitchcock's small parts-small book issues from Margaret Jones' Transplant (1968). This time it's a membrum virile which is grafted on to James Anthony Hislip after an accident, and he begins to question the identity and capabilities of the original owner-donor, pursuing him via the wives or rather widows of the deceased. . . . This is one of those putative pleasantries which depends entirely on whether you're predisposed--if not it will be a case of very early rejection.
