by Rebecca Emberley ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 30, 1981
One of the Emberley family's slighter step-by-step drawing books, this shows how to draw various animals by putting specified combinations of letters, numbers, and punctuation marks together. Thus an X, with a C attached at one end, a 3 at the other, and a dot for an eye, forms something that can be recognized as a fish. Later the numeral 2 forms the basis of a jumping fish, and other letters and numbers come together in a snail, a snake, a porcupine, and so on. A cute gimmick perhaps, but a limited one, yielding little excitement in the processes or the results.
