THE MYSTERY OF MARR'S HILL

When Ricky and John disappear into the cave at Marr's Hill, their parents, naturally, are alarmed. But not half as alarmed as the two young boys when they discover a group of creatures from another planet who intend to blow up the northern part of the earth by use of explosions caused by underground rivers. So that the sudden change in the earth's service will send the entire world off its orbit and towards destruction. A benevolent pair of children from a friendly planet help the boys defeat the schemers, the leader of whom is Mr. Proller, a man who has been employed as science teacher in the boys' school. A mechanical plot is tortuously unwound by means of a fairly ingenious device which is not, however, in itself sufficient to warrant the writing of this book.
