DOCTOR IN LOVE

As cheerful and cheeky as any in this popular series, this finds the doctor confined to a ward in St. Swithin's, afflicted first by an undiagnosed fever -- then with his first serious attack of love. But the night nurse for whom the doctor pines disappears surreptitiously. Released--into general practice -- he survives the ruinous innovations of his friend Grimsdyke -- as well as occupational risks, a bored wife, a too fond mother with a marriageable daughter. But the arrival of Dr. Barrington, who turns out to be a pretty girl, brings the professional collaboration to a personal and permanent conclusion. A happiness pill for an easily diagnosed market.
