by Richard M. Guldenstein ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 18, 1948
A fill-in word game, introduced in This Week, which has neither the difficulty nor the stimulus of the well-established crossword or doublecrostic puzzles. In a square, letters, two or three, on a diagonal for which letters to be used and definitions to be filled in are given below. With sufficient reference books, gamesters can whip through these, in spite of the publisher's contention to the contrary. Perhaps they are counting on most people having insufficient resources! No new game in a long time, so there may be a waiting public.
