...which lies dilapidatedly and enticingly in the small harbour of Santa Isabel, in Southern California, is the hulk which proves the instigation of some scapegrace to heroic activity in light vein. Ken, Tad, Bill and Curly are the nucleus of the boys around which the shore life buzzes, and Milliken is an absent-minded ex-pet shop owner. Episodes following Ken's employment as assistant-assistant harbour master include the selling of Milliken's pets, the problem of making money with the houseboat, raising an abalone sloop, a visitor from the mountains, yacht races etc. The end sees the boys firmly established with their own club and a solid tradition to live up to.
