Georgie the gentle ghost goes along, as do Herman the cat and Miss Oliver the owl, when Mr. and Mrs. Whittaker rent a beach house for the holidays. There a noisy old ghost of a sea captain, lamenting because he has never earned a medal, disturbs their sleep until Georgie calls upon his vocal powers to guide the boating Whittakers home on a foggy night. Georgie gives his fellow ghost a medal for the rescue, and after that ""Captain Hooper haunted so gently and Georgie was so proud of him, he just had to give him another medal. Thank goodness!"" For those who like their spooks subdued.
