Life on a Georgia farm a generation ago is the overall theme of a book divided into many episodes and centered on the adventures of three young brothers, Tyler, Wilkin and Skee. Their daily chores on the farm, their special brand of fun, their encounters with the more serious aspects of life reflect a way of life today's rural children will easily identify with despite the unique features of the era in which they are set. The episodes highlight the important event of each month, -- a trip to town in the fall, homemade gifts for Christmas, a glimpse of President Roosevelt on his way to Warm Springs, the loss of a favorite pet. None of this is high keyed for excitement, and humor is controlled. But for those who like their adventures more feasible than vicarious, the book should have appeal.
