NATURE NOTEBOOK

An established illustrator turns author-illustrator with a charming and different kind of family nature book about plants and animals seen near his own New Hampshire home. One day Bill and his Dad start on a fishing and sketching trip up the Ossipee River. What they observe on the way- presented in a refreshing combination of running text, data, and meticulous drawings (in black and white and soft colors)- is a fascinating , well rounded view of New England wild life. By no means an encyclopedia, but an appropriately informative book that should stimulate a healthy regional interest.
