Three non-book, non-toxic novelties attacking the old problem of bedtime fear and procrastination with a fluorescent picture -- candle, moon, and kerosene lamp respectively -- on each cover. As for the contents, The Little A B C merely goes through the alphabet with an alliterative triple name (from ""Good Night Little A/ Alfred Alvin Alligator"" to ""Good Night Little Z/ Zorba Zachary Zebra"") and a matching, incongruously pajama-clad animal on each page. Little One, even more minimal, is a counting book beginning with one child dressed in blue Dr. Dentons and bunny ears, sitting up in a bed that ends up with ten identical inhabitants -- they come through the door, window, trapdoors in floor and ceiling, etc. In the third, slightly more substantial book a mother rabbit calms her son's nocturnal anxieties (""there is a giant walking around downstairs. . . someone is rapping on my window"") until he goes to sleep. But the intent of the set is obviously not literary and it will be merchandised accordingly.
