From the most familiar instruments (radar, radio telescopes) the book proceeds steadily to the most complex of the computers controlling the vehicles in space. Along the way, the author also discusses the reason for space research and the possible applications of the knowledge to be gained by it. There is a particularly interesting section on the equipment planned for use in gathering information from the projected Moon Base.
