WISE HOUSE

In the happy tradition of Barry's Nanny and a number of the Doolittle animals are the admirable guardians of Michael, Allan and Mary Ann in this enchanting story of a human-animal household. Left in the care of Skio, a very wise crow, and the fastidious Mrs. Purkins, a magnificent Persian cat, the three orphan children found that, although household discipline was firm and indisputable, they had a great deal of fun. Together with the singing dog, Abou, the children enjoyed the company of elephants when Skio decided their house was to be moved to a desirable location, had hilarious times in their seaside surroundings, and, at last, discover treasure. Skio is a crow after our own heart, with fatherly wisdom combined with a few feathers and fuss and no one could wish a more conscientious housekeeper than Mrs. Purkins. Superior animal nonsense and family doings.
