A novel of homosexuality does not abuse the possibly suspect aspects of this situation but conveys rather the social problems of a group which the world will not accept- and integrate, and the issues of personal morality which it raises. It is a psychiatrist, Tony Page, who is bisexual, who presents his own case along with others in his practise- and in his life as the suicide of Julian Leclerc, on the eve of his marriage, attracts his curiosity and involves him emotionally. And so, in the pursuit of the real answer to Leclere's voluntary end, his search takes him through the ""underground"" of others whom he had known, and others who and known Tony, and through Tony's death he makes an attempt to resolve his own life... The subtle differentiations, evasions, and often humiliations of this halfworld and the special habitat it frequents is viewed with detachment- but without distaste, and derives from the experience of this writer who is also a psychiatrist.
