This is a refreshing story of modern business, for this time the hero is not warped by ambition, the advertising man does not have a grey flannel mind and the contemplated affairs are never consummated. Charlie Webb, bored on leave from the army, calls on beautiful Polly Chalmers, daughter of the family grown wealthy through their steel blade factory. Charlie marres into the family, sees possibilities for the factory, mismanaged by dreamy Lowell Chalmers, starts at the bottom, then gradually assumes control. He reaches the peak with honesty and sincerity intact. Three cheers for the Literary Guild giving the palm to a decent American business hero.
