Restoring the Restoration again for a follow-up to Kitty, and not forgetting Forever Ambor (Miss Marshall doesn't either) for the seasoned, sporty tale of Percy, the Duchess of Harford, and plain Tom Ligonier. Percy is a beauty- and a wildcat; Tom, quite a man in his way, is happy to become her lover, but refuses to be kept by her and holds her off. Splitting with Percy after a squall, Tom only learns some time later that Percy has bought control of his newly formed newspaper, and enraged- Tom quickly resigns. Successive efforts on Percy's part to get Tom back fail- until a riot- in which she is injured- enables Tom to rescue her and Percy to meet his terms as plain Mrs. Ligonier. Full decor and display of period and passion make this strictly cheesecake.
