THE WYCHERLY WOMAN

Lew Archer, with whom suspicion is an occupational hazard, finds his client, Homer Wycherly, is a handful when he gets moving on the disappearance of Homer's daughter, Phoebe. Tracking down libelous letters and the wandering Mrs. Wycherly, Archer pretty well covers the California coast, uncovers blackmail and shady real estate transactions, and turns up an assortment of possible suspects for more than one murder. Solid.
