A lively amusing story of little girl friendship, as Sudy, an only child whose name was really Susan, and Prill, one of a large, delightfully crazy family, became ""best friends"" and found that each brought something to the friendship. Sudy was a little afraid of things, and thought Prill did everything well. But she found after a while that she wasn't a coward after all, and that Prill had an inferiority complex herself and needed something Sudy could give. A very sound story of eleven and twelve year olds in a little New England town. The giggles, the flights of imagination, the fun, the heartaches, are all there. We've needed more of this sort of story. This is good.
