RALLY TO THE DEATH

While superlatively elegant and useless Angela Ryder hangs around to provide a touch of contrasting decadence, eighteen-year-old Kate Peterson and Angela's brother Tim cross the starting line of the English Rally of the Forests as the Daily Post entry. Kate's driving skill is as breathtaking as Angela's glossiness, and she needs every bit of her expertise, what with the slimy terrorists of the Rough Justice Commando determined to make her pay their score against the Post. Of course Kate and Tim continue the rally, even after her fast driving sends one carful of pursuers over a cliff (this, we presume, is British sportsmanship). And with police and team managers on the lookout for trouble, only Tim's school-age brother Nick is alert enough to save both Kate and Tim from being buried alive in their once natty Triumph Dolomite. The casting is slick as an oiled track. . . and this slides right by, leaving a faint smell of exhaust in its wake.
