THE BRIDAL CANOPY

The story of a Jewish scholar who was very poor -- too poor to give his daughters dewries -- and who spent all his time in study. His Rabbi insisted that he travel forth he seek his fortune, and a bridegroom for his oldest daughter. During five months he collected the sum, then settled down to spend it, forgetting his mission, until it was recalled by an offer which he accepted. The money was gone -- he felt God would provide -- and He did! All turned out well....Overlong and padded with Jewish folk lore, which would appeal to a very limited market.
