The material in this book says the author, was first used for lectures delivered over a number of Canadian radio stations as an attempt to make a contribution to Christian education in Canada at the adult level. With more material added, Dr. Gilmour now seeks a larger audience. ""We are better equipped today,"" he writes, ""than at any time since the first century, to undertake a study of the Gospel of Jesus."" This book attempts to make available for the adult reader, not a particular system of theology as so many books do, but as true an account of the Gospel preached and taught by Jesus as reverent scholarship has enabled us to recover it. He includes a careful consideration of the bearing of teaching in the recently discovered ""Dead Sea"" scrolls on an understanding of the Gospel Jesus preached. He has carefully documented the material from primary sources to facilitate its use by ministers and college and seminary students. There are many who will find this volume most useful.
