by Sanford Tousey ‧ RELEASE DATE: Aug. 16, 1954
On his father's farm, ten year old Pete finds an old Ford left by the former owners and, with Dad's help, gets it into driving condition. With the Ford, he helps during the threshing and then paints it up to win a prize in the July 4th parade. Though it's stressed he won't be able to drive the car on the highway until he's sixteen, Pete appears remarkably privileged and advanced for a boy of ten as Sanford Tousey's stilted prose and flashy pictures take him through rather wild-eyed paces. Dreams of glory!
