TEN GALLON HAT

City boy Terry Foote is broken into ranch life, during a summer at his uncle's Flying X in Wyoming. Simple narration that never lags takes Terry on a very real set of adventures that could happen to any boy. Off on the wrong foot at first, he's met by his two young cousins who have their doubts about the fancy clothes Terry bought in the city. Worse yet, Bronco Bill, one of the ranch hands lights into the ""tenderfoot"" and through the months of ranch doings, come to resent Terry's growing knowledge and skill that enables him to gentle a horse where Bronco Bill failed. A State Fair rodeo sees scores evened, gives the satisfying ending to another Garst hit.
