CRYSTAL IS THE NEW GIRL

Crystal is the new girl whose subdued flakiness--pretending to tell time by a rubber band wrapped around her wrist, whispering Merry Christmas on the last day in school--sometimes gets Susan in trouble for talking in class. Trouble, even in this mild form, is obviously a new experience for Susan and, judging from her reports to mother after school, that's part of Crystal's charm. Crystal's shy smile and sly wink ask little. . . other very quiet children will feel their attraction.
