IN THE BEGINNING

Old Testament stories retold, through the chronological order of event to the death of Joseph. Very readable and close enough to the orthodox fundamentalist viewpoint to please conservative parents who want their children to learn the Bible stories as they learned them. Color is given to the telling by a certain dramatization of content through dialogue and story. The text is translated from the German -- and Sholem Asch's name carries weight.
