A splashy, trashy novel which will remind you as much of Harold Robbins as anyone else indulging in sexual gluttony before it veers into outright melodrama. It has everything to do with the private and public lives of Noelle Page, who becomes a prominent actress and is very versatile in bed after her early abandonment by Larry, a British flyboy/joyboy; Catherine the girl whom he later legalizes as his wife while Noelle becomes the mistress of a Greek Demiris, spelled Onassis; and finally Noelle's renewed relationship with Larry in spite of Demiris for whom he works and in spite of Catherine who refuses to divorce him and thus signs her own death warrant -- at their hands. The last third in which you're not sure just how she'll die -- on a mountain top, in a cave filled with bats -- hustles another kind of excitement. The novel was written on location in Chicago, London, Paris, Athens, Ioannina and Beverly Hills. Most apparently Beverly Hills.
