THE MERCHANT OF MURDER

The plot is wearing a bit thin as once again Don Cadee, head of Protection at a New York luxury store, lets his emotions win over his brains in pursuing the crooks involved in a major hi-jacking of men's wear de luxe, which leads to murder and a kidnapping. That he eventually gets the boy back and most of the merchandise is most luck than detective work, and there's another unregretted violent death before the finger is on the real culprit. Motives and evidence seem a bit unresolved, but the going is fast paced, the telling competent.
