Although Stephen Jacob Weinberg was even more creative and in between institutional pauses, officiated as Pola Negri's personal physician, a member of the N.Y. State lunacy commission, adviser to the Sultana of Afghanistan, etc., while meeting his death at the front desk of a motel. You kind of hate to see him go. . . Mrs. Wood, the cigarsmoking recluse of Herald Square, 93 at her demise, may be known to those who read Judge Cox's biography of her; then there's a confidence man who tricked a young woman into the (subway) shooting of his wife; the sad story of the man who whispered ""This is it, Honey"" before strangling the young woman he loved; and a congenital burglar who hit close to 1200 homes and stores. . . .
