ELEVATOR TO THE MOON

A fey bit of science fiction takes a trip to the moon and gives a frustrated elevator operator the thrill of his life. Willie Ploop, who has always wanted to do something more exciting, is approached one day by the building owner Mr. Winniger, who has had a new elevator constructed for his grandson. It turns out to be a space ship (or at least the space ship is what they think is the elevator) and when it takes off with them fact and fancy combine with other worldly connotations to weave a story with a funny fascination. For those who liked Walter Brooks' Freddy and the Men From Mars this is in the same vein and just as complicated.
