..... is Nick, a personable, equable 35, married to Iris who no longer fills his specifications, and more than a little in love with the ingenuous Del. Del runs off to New York and Nick leaves Iris to follow her there. He lands a more desirable job and his relationship with Del becomes more intimate. But there are queasy moments; Del is inexperienced and a little inadequate with his friends- a sort of advanced Greenwich Village and Bucks County circle- and they finally break up on a point of ethics, when Nick is offered still another job which will enable him to settle an old score and ruin a man. The weeks pass apart- until Nick is able to resolve his professional and personal life with Del's approval...A rather intimate romance with a personal idiom, and the small talk- over and above a few mannerisms- is smart and casual. Mostly for rent.
