Looking up the report on Postcards From Delaplane (1953), this would seem to be a recent take on the material in that book for here the travel is recorded from Europe, to the U. S. to Mexico, to Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, and the South Pacific, including Australia. His then eight year old daughter has added to her years, and the hodgepodge of his syndicated columns ranges from ""pin-up girls to pick-up girls"", from the cats of Rome to spaghetti sandwiches in Sydney, from flamenco dancers to Irish coffee, from the hula to fellow tourists, and much more of the incidentalia of travel. Random notes of far-spanned rovings, this is the San Francisco Chronicle's answer to the New York Herald Tribune's Art Buchwald and is in the same league for personalized traveling with an eye and ear tuned to the events of the moment.
