WALPOLE

Though he's the biggest walrus with the longest tusks, Walpole refuses to replace the battered, tired old leader of the herd. He's too busy feeding all the orphans and taking them for rides on his back. But after he saves the herd from a rather sheepish-looking polar bear, Walpole is acclaimed the leader and accepts the job--why the sudden change of heart we're not told. Hoff's typically easy, amiable cartoons of lumpy, lovable Walpole and friends add some fun to the minimal story.
