When lumbermen chop down the trees in Grizzwold's forest, the large bear numbers off in various directions to find a new home. He never becomes excited over his adventures and mishaps, and finally pads quietly into a pine-tree-filled sanctuary. Like most titles in this series, Grizzwold will serve a purpose, but the green and brown illustrations of cartoon quality are extremely monotonous, and drag the heavy ear below the usual level of other titles--several of which are by Mr. Hoff, including Stanley (1962, p.174, J-52).
